Convoys Wharf – is there a better way? Deptford is…convinced there is!

Deptford is… organising a planning objections workshop

Saturday 24th September
10am-12noon in the Blue room at the Albany, Douglas Way.

Lewisham Council is currently in the process of deciding whether or not to give outline planning permission for the redevelopment of the massive Convoys Wharf site alongside the River Thames in Deptford.

Many local residents are worried about the impact of the redevelopment, and are keen to ensure that their concerns are heard by the council.

But the planning documents are numerous and complex, and many people who want to respond to the application simply don’t have the time to read them fully.

Even those who do have time to read the documents may not know enough about the planning system to be able to write an effective response.

So we are holding an URGENT planning objections workshop THIS SATURDAY MORNING at the Albany theatre in Deptford, to provide help and advice to people wanting to comment on this planning application.

We can help you to write your letter, tell you where to send it, and supply the details of your local councillors, to whom you should copy your letter.

We are NOT affiliated to any political party, we are a group of local residents who want to ensure that the redeveloped Convoys Wharf offers the best for Deptford and its future.

We have exciting plans for a number of new ventures at the site which will enable the nationally-significant heritage of Deptford's royal dockyard and Sayes Court to be fully acknowledged, as well as creating skilled apprenticeships and jobs for local people, attracting tourists into the area, and allowing Deptford's maritime expertise to be revived.

If you cannot come to the meeting but want to be kept updated with what we are doing, please send your contact details to deptfordis@yahoo.co.uk and we will add you to the mailing list.
